Bureau des Ressources Génétiques

BRG

The Bureau des Ressources Génétiques is a governmental organisation born out of the desire of public authorities to have a special facility for drafting and implementing a national policy on animal, plant and microorganism genetic resources, enabling all those involved to work together and providing key expert reports at the national and international level in this field.

Its remit:
- Organise discussions at the national level on genetic resources and implement the subsequent national strategy
- Promote research on genetic resources and foster the transfer of knowledge
- Inform and communicate
- Provide the interface between French and international systems dealing with genetic resources.

The Roseraie du Val-de-Marne is in contact with the BRG through the Société Française des Roses (French Rose Society). They work together on management methods and funding.
